Construction aggregate (crushed stone, sand & gravel), ready mixed concrete and hot mix asphalt are literally part of every building project in New York State.  Demand for our products is roughly 175,000,000 tons every year – or about 10 tons for every man, woman and child in the state.  While there is currently enough materials to satisfy the demand, construction materials are a finite resource that needs to be carefully managed to assure the sustainability of our infrastructure and building projects.

NY Materials represents the business and regulatory interests of companies that produce these vital materials.  It is the mission of the officers, Board of Directors and committees to assure a stable, uninterrupted supply of resources to users throughout New York State.  In addition, we work closely with regulators and the Legislature to assure consistent, predictable regulatory programs to protect the environment and maintain the highest quality standards.  It is also our goal to promote the expanded and proper use of these native construction materials to avoid the transportation costs of importing other materials.
